Receive Goods
In the UK, leading foodservice operator Mitchells and Butlers use GS1 standards to manage the delivery of the goods to their 2,000 pubs. Within half an hour of a pub making an order, an acknowledgement note is sent to the ordering system electronically. The supplier then sends Mitchell and Butlers a Despatch Advice (or ASN) with the delivery details, including the product codes or GTINs. This speeds up goods receiving considerably at the pubs.
