Regulatory requirements

In order to improve food safety, legislators across the globe have regulations focusing on the traceability of products throughout the supply chain. Traceability requires identification of products, locations, and more – and systems need to be interoperable between trading partners. This is where GS1 standards come into play.

Around the world GS1 Member Organisations collaborate with industry, governments and other public sector organisations, to ensure that GS1 standards meet all regulatory requirements for traceability and food safety.
