GS1 standards in action

Global Trade Item Numbers (GTINs) and Serial Shipping Container Codes (SSCCs) are used to identify logistics units and enable tracking of shipments. SSCCs are encoded into barcodes or EPC/RFID tags and Global Returnable Asset Identifiers (GRAIs) are used to track fish boxes and crates dispatched.

Leveraging the latest RFID and cloud technology (EPCIS), solutions can be built to enable both business customers and consumers to retrieve traceability information about their fish products.
